New drummer Mark Andrews

Sceptocrypt drummer Mark

Due to a foot injury, Dr S had to step down as our drummer. We wish him well, as we welcome his replacement Mark Andrews. Playing drums since his mid-teens, Mark finds himself comfortable playing anything from free flow to hard hitting, while adding a groove-focused swing to it all. As a band and with every rehearsal, we can confidently say that he elevating the riffs thrown his way to make the ritual of playing the songs more rewarding. His presence on the UK scene is/was with death metal stalwarts Helestios, the symphonic metal Deity And Devilry, and finally a heavy metal covers band called Entropy. This varied experience is making him learn quite fast, and we hope to share…

Welcome new bassist Skyler (incl. link to a jam with 1996-99 bassist Johann)

Sceptocrypt bassist Skyler

Quite an announcement here as we welcome our youngest member to date in the form of new bass player Skyler who joined Sceptocrypt earlier this year. Besides lending his skills on 5 string bass, the chap came aboard the Sceptocrypt ship in full swing as he is also programming drums for an upcoming release, of which he is also taking recording, sound engineer and pre-mixing duties. Skyler is multi-talented, and we look forward to present his contributions on record and live later this year. For now, at https://www.instagram.com/p/DJAUuxWOcan/ you can enjoy a 3-bassist jam between Skyler, Malcolm (our guitarist) and our 1996-1999 bass player Johann who was currently visiting London.

Sceptocrypt seek vocalist ASAP

Now that we finally have a drummer & are prepping to come out live early 2025, we are looking for a vocalist who can growl/scream (but be generally understood), and also sing clean (think doom, prog, industrial, etc but NOT nu-metal).Adding drama to your singing by bringing lyrics to life (current lyrics deal with mental health, technology failures, willpower, etc not dragons/satan/gore) is more than welcome! Basically the more theatrical you are, the more you can play with the audience!  Listen to “The Wards Outside” to get a glimpse of our current sound (as every song differs a bit) & if you like what you hear, are London based/can commute here regularly for rehearsals, let’s set up a jam. Our vision…
