“Metal to the Masses : The Road to Bloodstock Heat 8” @ The Dev, Camden, London

Thanks to all of you who welcomed Sceptocrypt back live after 28 years last month in London and Malta. It felt good after so many years to finally be back on stage that we are doing it again this Friday, for a last minute gig, again at The Dev in Camden.
But this time it is a competition!
This is a Metal to the Masses heat and 1 of 2 competing bands get to hit the Semi Finals in May with an opportunity to play Bloodstock festival in front of 25,000 people this August. So your vote counts!
How to vote –
– Passive voter : You buy a ticket here in advance, which automatically gives us 1 vote (so if you are not London based, you can still vote)
– Active voter – you buy the same advance ticket, but this Friday at the venue you are allowed 1 more vote (at no extra charge), which means 2 votes for us
All others – you can still attend the event for free, and decide on the day if you want to buy a vote.
On the night there will be a panel of 3 judges that have 50% of the vote, the other 50% depends on sold tickets (at only £5.50), so of course we appreciate advance tix as that earns us an extra 1 vote and more of an opportunity to compete for Bloodstock.
Sceptocrypt onstage 9.20pm
Venue : The Devonshire Arms, 33 Kentish Town Rd, London NW1 8NL

Price : £5.50 (for voting patrons); Free (all others)
Come have some fun, and thanks for your support.
Reviews
Next up were Sceptocrypt, who delivered a set of macabre theatrical metal mixing doom, death metal, and experimental into a macabre sound. Keyboards brought a subtle layer of eeriness, the guitar had a big sound and delivered atmospheric melodies, the bass had a solid, pounding beat, while the drums anchored the sound with tight rhythms, precision, full-kit expression, and double kick pedal rumbling and power. The vocals are a mix of low, spoken word and deep death metal growls, and delivered with the theatre of a horror film Voodoo master, menacing and mysterious. They are also lively, joining the crowd and at the end even getting a hypnotic chant of “Sceptocrypt” going in the crowd! Voodoo magic and metal. Nice! – Loud Enough? Magazine
Took a Friday break from going full-on indie kid to see #metalforthemasses at @thedevcamden – my favourite haunt from my goth / punkyfish era, and still somewhere I visit EVERY time I’m in London. Saw the fantastic @sceptocrypt and picked up a tape (!) They are definitely a band to watch out for. – Rae Cameron

“Grim Reaper Festival” @ Tigullio, Malta

Fresh from our 6th Feb London show, we return to the shores where it all began – Malta, appearing at the cult Grim Reaper Festival on the 9th Feb alongside 10 other bands playing different genres of hard & heavy,
We are elated to play at Grim Reaper, the festival itself returning after nearly 3 decades.
We hence suggest you attend the whole day-event for a choice of Maltese talent, as much as we look forward to have many ready to experience Sceptocrypt’s juxtaposition of dissonance and calm.
